Software for rental firms

Availability is kept in a spreadsheet. Contracts are typed by hand. Deposits are chased by message, and service dates slip. We build car, van, equipment and plant hire firms a single system for bookings, contracts, payments and the fleet.

The results

  • 25 minutes less admin per booking

Jimmy’s Car Hire removed 25 minutes of admin from every booking, about four working weeks a year.

  • Full fleet visibility

Where each vehicle or machine is, when it is due back and when it needs a service, on one screen.

  • Paid before handover

Deposits and balances are taken by payment link and matched to the booking.

Why rental firms choose us

We built the system Jimmy’s Car Hire, a 12-car firm in South Africa, runs every booking on. That system is now Motorpool.

For equipment, plant and anything Motorpool does not cover, we build to fit how your depot operates.

Your data stays in accounts you own, exportable at any time.

How an engagement starts

The review has a fixed fee, which comes off the work if you go ahead. We discuss the cost on the first call.

  1. 1

    The review

For a rental firm, the review follows a booking from first enquiry to off-hire. It looks at availability, contracts, deposits and servicing. You get a written plan setting out what to do first and what to leave alone.

  2. 2

    The build

We build what the review recommends, connect it to the tools you already use and train your team.

  3. 3

    Ongoing support

A monthly plan covers hosting, support and improvements. Once one part is working well, we move on to the next.

Car and van hire: Motorpool

Motorpool is the rental software that grew out of the Jimmy’s Car Hire system. It covers bookings, online contracts, deposits, the fleet and WhatsApp, ready to use. If your fleet fits it, it is quicker than a custom build. If it does not, we build to fit.

FAQBefore you book

Common questions

01.Should we use Motorpool or commission a build?

If you hire out cars or vans, start with Motorpool. If you rent out equipment or plant, or your process does not fit Motorpool, the review will set out what to build.

02.Do we have to replace the software we use?

Usually not. The review starts with what you use today, and we replace a tool only when it costs more than it saves.

03.Can customers sign and pay online?

Yes. Contracts are signed online with ID and licence attached. Deposits and balances are taken by payment link and matched to the booking.

04.How much does it cost?

It depends on what the review finds. The review has a fixed fee, which comes off the work if you go ahead. After it, you get a fixed price for each piece of work, in writing.
